Kathy and I went to dinner the other night. As we walked along the shoreline/docks enjoying the scenery, I noticed this bicycle parked in front of an upscale office. What made me laugh was not the state of the bike (it's obviously old, rusty, tires are bald and cracking) but the shiny black item on the back wheel which looks like caliper brakes. That's a BRAND NEW lock! The lock is probably worth more than the whole bike!
I understand entirely the love of old stuff that you get used to and are willing to go to unreasonable lengths to keep. I'm sure that Nancy feels the same way.
